What has the rut activity been as of recent in colorado on the western slopes. I will be heading out there next wed. for the first rifle season.

I still heard some bugling through this last weekend, but it seems to have died down this week. I'm in northwest Colorado and the rut usually ends by about the first of October around here.

| Usually the rifle seasons are completely out of the rut, especially seasons 2-4. If you want to hit the peak elk rut, you'll have to go archery. |

| Or muzzleloader. That season is usually the second week of September. |
