We (at Chester) didn't get hit that hard but Halifax is a disaster zone. They were at a state of emergency until tuesday. The waterfront is destroyed. Public Gardens has most trees destroyed. Quite a mess. Our golf course lost about 100 trees but I have been talking to other supers and know of atleast two that lost 3000+ trees. Sailboats ended up in peoples homes. I drove around a small boat in the middle of the road. Pretty wild.

The in-laws still don't have power, and are gorging themselves on BBQ deer now that the freezer is starting to thaw. One of their neighbours up the street is running a generator and stringing extension cords so people can plug in their fridges. Bizarre!

Good link. For as massive as some of those trees are they have puny root balls.

Hopefully the clean up will go quickly for all of you.

Wow what a mess! I had wondered how you all were doing considering the hurricane.

Lot of clean up work....

The inlaws just got power yesterday, almost a week later. At least there'll be plenty of cheap hardwood firewood in the city this winter.
