| nothing against a .223 but it should be noted that most states have a min. of .24 cal for centerfire rifles used to take Deer and similar size game animals. Check your local regulations before using a small calibre rifle for Deer. |

| I don't know anyone that has shot a deer with a .224 diameter bullet (223). What type and weight of bullet is used? Just a curiosity. |

| Fuzzybear; I use a 22-250 for deer here in North Carolina. It’s legal and deadly. The combined technology 50-grain bullet with H 380 powder is a great combination. I always get pass-through shots no matter where it hits. Also remember we use dogs to “move” the deer down here. I have yet to loose one or have one to run more than 50 yards. The largest deer I have taken with this rifle / bullet combination is 203 LB’s (on Foot). :D |

| I owned a 243 win for many years and was always going to try the 80gr core locks. Being satified with the 270 win and 130's, I never attempted it. But then again, all of my hunting has been in the vast western states. |
