These photos were sent in by Jim Robertson of Williams Arizona.

Nick Franklin of Phoenix Arizona has taken what potentially could be a new P&Y non-typical Yellowstone elk world record. The bull was taken just a few days ago in AZ's Unit 8 and Jim was able to snap these photos the same day the bull was harvested.

Green scoring was done by Steve Sherwood, owner of TNT Taxidermy and John McClendon (SCI certified), owner of John McClendon & Sons Guide Service. The bull came out at a gross score of 454 and a net non-typical score of 439 6/8 inches.

Thanks go to Jim for sharing the photos.

Great pics!! I saw some black & white photos of this monster at the local sporting goods shops last week. The antlers dwarfed the body. Hopefully AZ will start getting some of the respect it deserves for record elk (we also have the B&C typical record). I'm getting riled up about my hunt on Friday, so I better go practice my calling.

Big Bull! Guarenteed to induce severe case of big bull shimmies in any hunter.

Now 1975fj40, I think all these world records are just CO mountain bulls skipping over to sunny Phoenix for the winter.

Thanks bitmasher. It's already over. In fact, it was over by 8:45 AM on opening day. Scouting hard really pays off. I passed up two rag-horns and a cow very early in the morning and took a nice 6 x 6 (with a cheater 7 on the right antler). I called him in within 40 yards and nailed both lungs with my .270, he ran about 50 yards (down hill of course) and dropped. I spent the rest of the day packing him out. I just got the meat back from the processor last night and tonight's menu includes: Elk with a side of elk in a very nice elk sauce and for dessert....you guessed it!

My dad's talkin about him and my uncle takin me and my cousin out west to elk hunt in the fall of '04 or whenever my uncle gets back from Kuwait. I'd Love to see somethin bout that size!

That is good to hear 1975fj40, congrats on filling your tag, I hold off on the elk custard though.

Yeah they get big Bnow0707, although this one pictured here is definitely on the freakish big side.

For a change of pace, Try the side of elk in a Mule Deer sauce.
