| Someone told me that it is legal in the state of Washington to heat honey and water on a burner to attract black bears. Is this true? Everything I have read so far would lead me to believe it is illegal. |

| As far as one could tell from the regs. It is illegal to bait any big game animals. |

Howdy! I'm new here too and I am thinking about hunting bears for the first time. I'm glad this topic is posted because here in Oregon I know it's illegal to bait for bears. But what is the real definition of "bait?" I mean, my brother and I put elk piss on our boots. Is that baiting? I've seen apple scents for sale in the sporting goods stores. What about that? I don't think it is, especially if the scent is on you and YOU are the bait! If I am correct in my thinking, then what about using a fruit air freshener spray, like my wife likes to spray around the house. Like a pear scent. Could I spray that in my hunting area? Sorry for all the hypetheticals but am very curious!

| Near as I can tell it is illegal to use any type of scent to attract bears in Washington. Sounds like a good idea to stay away from all of them. |

OK GUYS AND GALS , this is all i know the laws in our state are under {revote} what i understand is when they voted lesislation on bear hunting and hound hunting they put the two togeather and it was found unconstitusanal and they will have to revote on each single regulation to be able to enforce a violation so if you bait bear now and are caught they cant enforce the rule ......... get me ! now dont go baiting on my say so cause i dont have that in black or white ok..
