I've used a compound bow for many years, and I'm thinking about buying a recurve for fun. Anyone have any opinions about which kind I should buy, etc?

| The only "contemporary" recurve I've ever shot is a Fred Bear and it was lots of fun. I've picked up a couple "antique" recurves on ebay for about half the price of a new one. Just have to be careful what I buy and ask lots of questions before making a bid. So far I've had good luck with a Shakespeare and a Ben Pierson. I shoot them all the time with no problems. |

| I previously owned a Martin Howatt Hunter recurve bow, which I found to be a very nice shooting bow. It had the advantage of being able to purchase additional limb sets to change the draw weight of the bow. Cabela's, among others carries this bow. |

Martin makes some very nice instinctive bows.
Go to www.stickbow.com. There is info on most anything you would want to know. The site also lists items for sale. |

| I have a Blackwidow PSAIII. Was nice feel after compound shooting. Now I shoot mostly longbows. |
