My aunt found this longbow with leather quiver and cedar arrows in her basement and passed it on to me. She tells me it belonged to her grandfather who passed away in the late 50's. I cleaned them up with water and a soft sponge and the bow is in great shape except for a cracked horn nock. Even the origional finish is intact. It was made by "The Archer's Company" of Pinehurst, NC. and is solid yew with horn nocks, 71 inches in length, stamped "37" (I'm assuming pounds), and has a wrapped felt handle. I've done a little research and as best as I can tell, it was made in the late 1920's or early 1930's. I'd love it if anyone could give me more info on this bow. As I said above, one of the horn nocks is cracked and I'd like to find a replacement. Anybody have any idea where I might be able to find one?
Thanks in advance!

I'm sure you could find a local bowyer to help you out. They could certainly replace the nock for a nominal fee.

Go to
stickbow.com and put out the word on their site. You may be able to find someone, on the east coast, that could make one or has a replacement.
If not, I know a bowyer in Washington.
The poundage is typically measured at 28 inches. If your draw is longer. It, of course increases or shorter it deceases.

I've never heard of the maker but, it looks like a very nice stick and well worth fixing.
The arrows that came with it may or may not work for you. Dependent on your draw length and how you release the arrow.

Good luck and I believe you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of it.
