| I've been hunting for more than 10 years but have only starting pig hunting two years ago. I have been hunting Pine Flat Lake mostly, since it's closer to home and it's public land. I have yet to see a pig anywhere for the past two years. Seen a lot of droppings and tracks only. I've also tried an area close to san luis reservoir with no success as well. Can anyone recommend any blm properties near the fresno area? I'm willing to travel up to 2 hours for a good hunt. I'm also open to ranches that won't charge me an arm and a leg just for a hunt. Any ranches that charges under $300 would be the spot for me. Please help me fill my wild pig tag. |

| Pigs are a very hard animal to hunt for sure. When hunting in the summer remember that Pigs will be looking for the coolest places. They generally spend most of their day bedded down in thick brush or under trees. A great place to hunt Pig is Camp Roberts. Just take highway 101 (you'd have to check if you need to go N or S from where you are) The next Pig hunting dates are Oct. 18-19. They only allow hunting on certain days of month. From what I'm told the area near the river (areas 3 and 4) are good spots. |
