Hello All,
I would first like to say thank you for any help you may offer. My Wife(first time hunter) got drawn for a cow tag in Unit 8. We are making our first scouting trip this weekend but I am worried that what we scout now will not really help as it is a late hunt and where we find elk now will not be useful then. Do any of you have any knowledge that you would be willing to share about where to look in December when is is cold? If you do not want to post here you can email me at motoxno53@yahoo.com I am not looking for you "spot" if you could just point us in the right direction to where you know elk will be in Dec.

| Low and south if we have as much snow as last year. I'll be in 8 on a Bull hunt in late Nov. Ask me after that. I'll be happy to help a first time hunter bag their first elk as long as you make sure she can shoot. |

| That is my most favorite area in the whole state of AZ. I've hunted it alot for everthing from quail to elk. When I go after elk I like to focus on Sycamore Canyon & Pine Flats. I've taken elk in both areas. |

| Thank you guys so much for the info. I wil get back to you after your hunt. Yes my wife will spend lots of time at the range. We shoot a lot both gun and bow. |

| Oh if its anything like last year in Dec....the elk will be going low. If its snowing which is VERY possible..you should seach the lower level areas. Good luck and congrats on the draw that is an excellent unit. |
