| You can never go wrong with the Buck 110 folding lock blade. For Elk I carry 3 to 4 and a sharpener but for deer the 110 can do it all. |

Id suggest a smaller drop point, with atleast some kind of finger guard. 3 to 4 inch blade. The reason why a drop point is about the best blade shape for field dressing is when turned upside down opening the carcass the dropped point will have less chance of diggin in.
Finger guard is in my opinion essencial, as a guide dressing alot of game in my life that added saftey factor is invaluable in cold wet bloody hands. At 3 to 4 inches which is "skinner" sized it will do everything needed in the field for dressing game and not be unweildy hence more controlable.
Hunter size would be 5 to7 inch blade and still very useable for dressing game out as well as other camp chores but for just skinning, less is often more. |

I ended up going with Bark River, Fox Rover series. The blade is absolutely incredible, and hopefully in two to three weeks I will be breaking her in with a nice Buck and a Hog. thanks for all of the responses.
