I am thinking about getting a single shot 22-250. I have never had or shot a single shot and just want some input , likes, dislikes etc.Would be for coyotes and just farting around.

Providing the make/model might get some personal experiences from those that own one.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with singe shot rifles, only disadvantage is the second or subsequent shots are not quite as quick coming ::-k Might be a good thing ::-k

Harrington and Richardson, I believe make a good economical one. Thompson Center makes a very nice one. Good thing about these are you can buy interchangeable barrels for other calibers or shotgun.

Nothing wrong with a single shot they tend to be accurate and make you a more accurate shooter/hunter as you tend to be more critical regarding shot placement when you know you likely have one shot. Though with practice you can reload pretty quickly.

I agree with Hammer, the biggest disadvantage is the time required to deliver a follow up shot. The advantage is a simple gun with reduced weight.

NEF/HR, Ruger #1 (or a #3 which is fairly rare), Browning hi-low/wall, Sharps, TC Encore/Contender/Prohunter, CVA Optima and Optima Elite are a few to consider.

I have a 243/30-06 set. Great rifles. I use 55gr ballistic tips in 243 and 220gr partitions in 30-06.
