After 28 attempt over the past 20+ years of trying, I was drawn for the rut elk hunt in Idaho unit 45. Any help in planning this hunt would be great!
Better than getting drawn myself ... my wife and 17 year old son also got drawn so we have 3 of the 30 available tags !!!
Where to go and how to get through the privately owned property to get there would be great information. We have been door knocking and so far have had little success on getting on the private land. |

I will be out there hunting the 29th of Sept. thru the 4th of Oct. I am going to be the caller for a young man with a special needs permit who has Leukemia. We are going as a part of the Hunt of A Lifetime Foundation for kids with life threatening illness. He is going to be filmed for a new TV show called "First Hunts". Send me an e-mail and I will let you know what we see. We have permission for this kid on 3 ranches so we should be on Elk pretty quick as the ranchers are being very awesome about helping us get this kid his first and possibly last Elk.
