I shoot a Bowtech Guardian @ 70lb with a 29 inch draw length. My vane is hitting the rest every shot! Is my bow too fast or can I make an adjustment?

Help!

Welcome to BGH Darin :thumbsup1:
I don't know if you intended to Post your question in the Moose Section or not, otherwise I could transfer it for you, never know, maybe it will generate a response right here.

Enjoy your stay on BGH :)

Is the bow properly tuned? Do you know where on the rest the vanes are hitting? If I'm thinking of the right rest, it has a bar on the top of the rest. If it is hitting that just remove it and see what happens.

I just read some reviews on this rest. The people that were complaining all complained the vanes hit on bows that were too fast, mostly over 280fps. Couple said they moved the rest to slower bows and worked flawlessly. Another said he lowered weight and it worked perfectly.

Get a fall away rest. It well be the best purchase you ever made for your bow. You'll never have the problem again.

I would say if your arrow is hitting a fall-a-way rest, then that rest is crap.

Thanks for the responses! Hammer1 I did not mean to post in moose section if you can move this that would be great.
Redrider, the arrow is not hitting the retaining bar it is hitting the right side of the drop away mechanism. Does anybody know if there is a faster drop away on the market? Thanks again for the responses!

How do you have your vanes aligned? Is your cock vane up?

When you shoot fall aways your cock vane should be pointing up and not to the left. Try changing it and see if it solves your problem.

I have it and love it. I had the Octane Hostage Pro and talk about crap! Wore out the bottom brushes within 50 shots. I took it to a pro shop to see if I had done anything wrong and they had the same thought I had. I shot tighter groups with the Ripcord and I have my Cock Vane down. I missed a buck with my Ripcord when the drop away didn't drop. Alway's check your bow everyday with it to make sure the cord didn't rise while hunting and such. I made an 82 yard shot on my Buck that I ended up getting on Friday. I like the rest a lot, but I find myself wanting to try the Trophy Taker.

PS I shoot a Ross Cardiac and it's a fast bow.
