I recall that 20 years or more ago, people insisted that they were seeing coyotes in NL on a regular basis. They were laughed at, or simply poo-pooed.
Now, coyotes are over-running our province, and are even making a huge impact on the poor success of our caribou population.
I don't believe there's a black panther around. But, I don't necessarily disbelieve it, either. Perhaps a cougar would be conceivable, but not a black one (that variation of the cat being more closely associated with the south). |
