Took the Hawken out today and had a blast! Shot my Omega for the first time today too. Those sabots are a bear to load.

What a great day! Taking the muzzleloaders back out, then an afternoon of kayaking. I attached a TC 1.5-4x scope to the Omega. I'm going to sight in with TC 250gr shockwaves that came with the rifle. They are yellow sabots, so I'm assuming they are the easy glides. I hope they go down easier than the mag expresses I have.

I have a TC Hawken .50 and my inline is a TC Omega. I would like to get a flint lock at some point. If I do, I think I will look into fowlers. I have an original fowler from the early 1700's, and I greatly appreciate the look and feel of this rifle. Unfortunately, it had been converted to percussion at one point, and the lock and trigger mechanisms are now missing. I have it locked away, but the next time I clean it I'll post a couple photos.

Hey french. Just a tip to help make the loading a bit easier. After you clean your muzzleloader use TC Bore butter as the final step. Makes the loading much easier. You can even put a small ammount on the sabots prior to loading and they will load like butter. Also, if you are going to stick with the shockwave bullets, make sure you buy the ones with the 3 petal sabots rather than the 2 petal. The 3 petal sabots load MUCH easier even without lube.
