Greetings,
I am a new to the sport but i have no experience, training, or useable knowledge about hunting. I do not know were to start or what kinds of hunting i can do or were. I do know that I would like to start slowly but i do hunt something challenging. The Primary information i am looking for is suggestions about game choice. I would greatly appreciate any information on getting started, a particular type game to pursue, the equipment required, the necessary skills to pursue that particular game, and the general region in which to find it.
Thanks for the Help |

| First and foremost, you should take a hunter safety course. There should be some in your area. I suggest going to a local sportsman's club and start asking some questions. They will steer you in the right direction. |

Welcome to BGH Kent.
Do you have Family members who hunt?
Might try and get a guided or semi guided hunt if you can afford it. |

Know the anatomy of your quarry. Cleaner kills.
Study up on field dressing and getting the game out of the woods and into the freezer or to the butcher, without spoiling the meat.
How to judge trophy sized game in the field, is always good knowledge.
These should keep you busy for a while. |

|
|
| I have been hunting for over 15yrs now and I found that i learned much quicker by bow hunting than with a gun. With a bow you have to be so much more in tune with what the animal is doing in order to even see any. I would suggest starting with Whitetail and read as much as you can about them. Let me know if you would like some titles, i have read quite a few good books in the past five years. By reading you will gain more of an understanding of the game and what you need to do to be successful. the hunter safety course is going to give you some guidance too. Good luck and let me know if you could use some reading material. |
