| I am new to hunting, I have been interested in trying it out for years just never had the opportunity. I am looking for a place I can go with my wife and friends to try my hand at deer hunting. i am not sure how to find areas to try or any equipment needed, any help would be greatly appreciated. |

You don't mention where you live but I will give an Arizona answer. Start with the Game and Fish website wherever you live.
First, you will need a tag. The draw results posted on AZ game and fish last week. There are a few leftover tags available by mail - first come first serve. See AZGFD's website for details. AZ Deer Association has a deer hunting seminar in August and Cabela's, Bass Pro, Sportsman's warehouse all have seminars. If you have missed the draw there may be opportunities on Indian Reservations in your area. I plan to hunt deer on the Navajo Reservaion this year with my neice. They offered a youth/ adult doe hunt this year. Two tags for $50.
Good luck, hunt, hard, and enjoy being out!!! |
