| Well, I bought my first kayak and spent all morning and afternoon paddling. I wish I bought one earlier! They are so much fun. |

Its been a while now. Have you enjoyed your kayak jfrench? Do you take it on lakes or rivers or both? The only time I've used a kayak, is in saltwater in the gulf and I loved it. Here in Colorado for freshwater (both on lakes and rivers) we use small individual pontoons or a driftboat. The pontoon is my favorite, since its more stable in moving water. However its not as portable as a kayak. I'm thinking of getting a kayak as well.
So if any of you have used all of the above, let me know what you prefer. We used to also have a river raft, but found it too cumbersome to transport. Plus my husband is an avid flyfisherman, so he doesn't just float the river, but fishes as well. In fact, has anyone tried those split tail kayaks, you know the ones made for fishing? |

| I've enjoyed my kyak very much. I've been kyaking lakes and ponds. It's getting cold now, but I'm still on the water. It is a simple kyak, no thrills. I've fished from it (both spin and fly fishing) no problems, and have packed it for full day excursions with lunch and camera in hand. It was the best purchase of '08 for me. |
