I just bought a new Alpen 15-45 x 60 (725) spotting scope and I have to say I'm really impressed with the quality of the scope. The optics are clear and the image is sharp. The zoom is excellent and it's not too touchy to focus in.
I'd never heard of Alpen until recently and probably wouldn't have bought it if I hadn't looked through it first (bought it online) and as impressed as I was in the store looking through it I'm even more impressed now that I've had it outside.
My only question is why don't I hear more about them? Is everyone just as ignorant as I am and hasn't heard of them? |

you can check out Alpens site:
http://www.alpenoutdoor.com/index.html
it looks like the MSRP is 207.00 but it's on sale now for 30% off ($145) and that is just the scope, you can also buy a kit (which is what I bought) that includes a table top tripod, a window mount and hard and soft cases. for about $60 more.
they are made in the US and I heard the company was started by 2-3 guys who left Burris to start this company. They also make binoculars (and have won Outdoor Life magazines great buy award) and Rifle scopes. I'm probably going to buy a rifle scope later this year as I've been wanting to replace the one I have for some time now.
I haven't been able to use it as much as I'd like but I have used it at distances of up to 1000 yards and like i said before it has a really sharp view and is very easy to adjust focus and power. I'm looking forward to getting out and using it more. |

You are so correct. I carry Alpen products and customers say the same thing. They never heard about it until they came across it by accident. AlpenĀ® Spotting Scopes Winner of Great Buy Award in 2003, 2004, and 2005 as seen in Outdoor Life Magazine. They have been around for awhile but again, not many people know about them. They carry a full line of optics. Spotting scopes, range finders, binoculars, monoculars, night vision, rifle scopes with good warranty and the price is right! You can look here to compare.
