I recieved this in an email today and its a scary thought. Here it is:
Alert: Bill to create severe restrictions on all ammunition sales and purchases
Bill Status: To be heard Tuesday by California Senate Public Safety Committee
Action: Contact committee members
Ammunition Assault (AB2062) in California: AGAIN
The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) -- the trade association of the firearms and ammunition industry -- along with the California Association of Firearms Retailers, are urging all sportsmen, hunters and gun owners to voice their opposition to AB 2062 -- a second attempt by anti-gun legislators to create severe restrictions on all ammunition sales and purchases in the Golden State. The bill is slated to be heard in the California Senate Public Safety Committee tomorrow, Tuesday June 17.
With the help of each and every California retailer, sportsmen and gun-owner, this bill will be defeated AGAIN.
AB 2062 will treat you like a common criminal. It requires ammunition purchasers to be fingerprinted at the point of purchase which will then be stored in the California Department of Justice database. You won’t be able to comparison shop for ammunition because your gun dealer will have to keep ammunition locked up and away from customers. Also, all sales of handgun ammunition would have to take place in a face-to-face transaction -- no mail orders.
This bill will not affect criminals and will only serve to punish law-abiding ammunition retailers and purchasers as well as California taxpayers who are footing the bill for the reintroduction of this legislation.
NSSF and the CAFR are encouraging all California gun-owners, sportsmen and firearms enthusiasts to contact members of the Senate Public Safety Committee and urge them to stop wasting valuable tax dollars and oppose AB 2062.

| I would be more than a little upset if I lived in california. What I hear from a lot of people is "why do you care, you dont live there." No one it seems is ever concerned at all about the precidents being set else where. |
