Following months of closed-door negotiations between PETA and KFC Canada (which is owned by a different company than KFC restaurants in other countries), PETA was thrilled to announce that KFC Canada has agreed to a historic new animal welfare plan that will dramatically improve the lives of millions of chickens killed for KFC Canada.

You can see more on the PETA website. I already wrote a letter and made a telephone call to KFC Canada. I let them know that I will not be visiting any their restaurants during any of my frequent Canadian visits. I ask that others do the same.

Update: Now Al Sharpton is siding with PETA and speaking out against KFC in other countries. He believes KFC everywhere should follow along with KFC Canada. It just shows how out of touch with reality that Al Sharpton is......probably part of the reason that he also supports Obama.

I grew up on a farm. Trust me, a chicken doesn't have the brainpower to 1) compare his view of the world relative to anything beyond himself; 2) know that his life is out of order; 3) want to change; or 4) realize there is anything in his life that has improved.

It's a chicken. It has the brain the size of a pea. It exists to peck things and reproduce. It has no personality.

Ok...so I see their point. Chickens and PETA activists have a lot in common.
