i have question for all of you experts out there, i just got a new savage 7mm mag for christmas and i havnt been able to hunt with it yet cause hunting season doesnt start till september, so i was wondering what is the maximum accurate range of a remington 7mm magnum 165 gr.?

the cartage should easily be accurate out to 500 yards, the rifle and the shooter are the determining factors of what your maximum range with that round is

i have a feeling that if i tried to shoot a pheasant with my rifle there wouldn't be anything left, so i hope your only joking

As a new hunter I would encourage you not to worry about the maxium effective range of the cartridge. Unless you have a good bit of shooting skill behind you, the max effective range of the cartridge will greatly exceede your ability to use it. Work on that! And have fun. :thumbsup1:

thanks don, im not gonna try to take animal from tha far i was just trying to find out useful knowledge about my gun and what its abbilities are, but thank you for your advice, o and to rez thank you for being a smartass :thumbsup1:
