Not yet...I normally use my compound during archery season here in California, but during guns season I am going to use my crossbow this upcoming season.

I drew a bear tag again this year and am probably going to use a crossbow this year. I am shooting a Ten Point crossbow, carbon shafts and Wensel Woodsman broadheads. I have inserted heavy monofiliment line into the shafts to bring the total weight up to 580 grains. I am very impressed by the performance of the Wensel Woodsman broadheads.

Archery and gun season here open at the same time so I would rather use my rifle.

Well I am at that stage in my life as a hunter where the method is becoming as important as the kill its self. I have taken bears with a rifle, a shotgun slug, a compoung bow and a long bow. Since I can no longer pull a bow, its crossbow or gun. If I have a really large bear coming into the bait, I might use a rifle. If he trys to climb the tree I am in, I will use my revolver.

I was going to say, just use your handgun, nothing like handgun hunting in my opinion.. :thumbsup1: |
