Took this nice Merriams last week in Stevens County. Worked him for over an hour to get him close enough for the shot.

Beautiful tom!
Awesome that you took him with a recurve! :thumbsup1:
So far this season I've taken a jake with my shotgun, but tomorrow I plan on getting out there with my old Ben Pierson. Did you build your call for this one? What did you use?

Why of course I used my own calls. :D

A combination of a box call and a wingbone call on this one. He came in twice. After calling for about 45 minutes, the first time he did not make a sound and surprised me a bit. I took a shot a missed. Then I started calling again and he stopped about a 100 yards out. I called several times and he started back. The I shut up and waited. Took him nearle an hour to return. At time I could see him milling around about 50 yards out. I stayed quiet and he finally got greedy and had to come back to find that hen. The second time I shot I did not miss.

Two Washington toms I got two years ago. Shot one with my 12 gage muzzle loader and the other one with my 12 gage. Now that I moved across the State it's hard to get home to hunt for turkey's. Gas money and all.
