I believe that when you turn in your hunter report at the end of the season you should have to choose one main area you hunted in. Then when you go to apply for your special elk permit the following year you can only apply for the area you hunted in the previous year. I find too many people put time in a area hunting the regular season for spike only and applying each season for that same area in hopes of drawing a bull permit. Then there are the guy's that hunt in areas that provide bull oportunities in the regular season and then also apply for other areas that only allow special tag holder's to shoot bull elk.

I feel a hunter should be able to hunt anywhere they please without a special permit.
This permit stuff is getting way out of hand. A bit greedy if you were to ask me but, then again. You don't have to ask me.

I feel the same. I just put alot of time in an area that is only open to spike in the regular season and I put in for my special tag for the area every year in hopes to draw. But other peopole from other states and other GMU in the state also put inn when they dont even know anyone in the area and have no permision to hunt on the land that hold's the elk. It's stupid. I mean, every year I run into guy's in the wood's with special tags and it seems to be that everyone I talk to is with a guide and is from a different state or from far away. Some of the people I run into are just plain clueless. Like sitting around a camp fire in the snow hoping a elk comes to them. Give me a break! Get off your but and earn that bull! It's getting pretty bad lijke you say fuz.
