| Just picked up the summer edition of Outdoor Canada. The main article was "101 things to do before you die". It was a very good read. Check it out if haven't. |

Hmmm.... In that case I assume that procreate also makes the top 10.
Here is another deep pondering. Does 911 work in Canada? |

If not procreate, at least use a word for it.
Believe it or not, the most common words at the end of cockpit voice recorders are "Oh, s**t!" |

Sorry for the delay, I was in Ottawa looking for a place to live. Moving day is 25 Aug so far.
I don't think they were ranked in any particular order; I think they just asked a bunch of outdoor writers/guides to submit 5-10 ideas. For what it's worth the top 10 were:
1: Catch the brookie of your wildest dreams;
2: Know how to land a float plane
3: Learn how to use GPS
4: Remember how to use a compass
5: Master the diaphragm turkey call
6: Take up bowhunting
7: Make a fire the old-fashioned way
8: Learn how to fly-fish
9: Figure out all those damn knots
10: Go fishing with Bob Izumi (or whoever your angling idol may be)
I thought the last 2 were pretty interesting:
100: Snorkel alone with sharks on the Great Barrier Reef;
101: Be ready to die a good death (see above).

Heh, heh. Not sure I would call acting out Jaws in real life my idea of a "good death". :wink:
Wonder why they said brookie of your dreams? Instead of just trout or if you are going for fresh water fish, salmon, pike, musky, or bass..... |
