Just booked my first hunt for Pronghorn in NM. I secured a landowner tag for a ranch near Vaughn through the guide I hired. The rifle season is only 2 days (Sept 13-14) where I'll be hunting. Anyone have any experience in NM? Seems like speed goat success rate is generally pretty high. Any advice for a first timer?

Bought a Weatherby Ultralight in .257 Weatherby. Will be shooting 100 grain Barnes TSX.

Thanks!

I live here in NM. The area you bought your tag in has excellent numbers and some quality bucks depending on what size a animal your wanting there's a pretty good chance you'll be done around 10am. Especialy if the ranch hands guide you. Good luck let us know how you do.

Yeppers a little advise if you don't mind. Line up a good taxidermist & meat processor. You are going to need it. The .257 Roy with TSX's is a great combination.

Remember you owe us pictures of your hunt.
