Looks like Springfield is about to release an updated version of the XD. Apparently it is only going to be offered in 40s&w in black or bi-tone.
Its new look reminds me somewhat of the H&K USP...

| That's probably their intent, to compete directly with the HK USP. |

| I have an xd in 357 sig and love it. It would be interesting to check out what the difference is between the new and old. |
