Headed out this morning and arrived at a spot I knew had some birds...to my surprise, not a peep. Went to the next spot, truck parked there....turned around and hit my final spot. I get out of the truck, cluck, cluck cluck....DOUBLE GOBBLE about 200 yards up on a hill. I set up on a logging road figuring he'll come down and see my decoy. I hear a hen chirping with him. There was a pond behind me and these geese land and start honking...the tom goes crazy and is letting out doubles and triples.. Then the son of a bitch moves to my way right...the damn hen starts stomping on my decoy!!! He's right behind a tree for about 4 minutes(what seemed an eternity). I could hear him strutting....couldnt get a good shot....then he took the wrong step and found a 3" turkey mag on his way. Beautiful morning, perfect hunt! 8.5" beard 20.5lbs
