Anybody heard the plan IDFG has for the Owyhee untits (40 & 42) Last year they cut the season length in half and of course it is still a 2 point only hunt. There have been rumors that they would open it back up as an "any buck" hunt. Just wondered if anyone had the skinny on this area.

I have not heard anything on those two units. However they were not in the group of units that had tag cuts this year.

When they put that restriction on the Owyhee area it was supposed to be a 5 year program. I guess the IDF&G lost count. I understand that if anything they will lift the restriction for archery only, like the Magic Mountain area, but not this or next year. Or so go's the rumor mill... |

| I guess an archery season would be better than nothing..... I'd love to see them have a late hunt for archery down there. I know that the deer populations are very high in the areas that I hunt. It's tough seeing all those big bucks and only getting to shoot the 2 pointers.... |
