Hi, all -
Some of you may recall my asking a few months ago for stocksmiths, as I wanted to have my Weatherby .240 bedded. Well, I'll spare you the gory details, but the stock was damaged in transit, and now I need a new one.
I need someone who can make a left-handed stock for this gun. Anyone?
Aargh... |

I'd ask around the local gun shops and find a few names of folks that makes stocks as a hobby/few extra bucks. The good ones will have a list of references, pics galore, samples. etc.. I seen stocks made in basements that put all the big names to shame. It won't hurt to make the odd inquiry.
Good Luck |

| Weatherby wants $750 for a stock that was designed for a different rifle. Plus, after my experiences with them to date, I'm really not looking to give them any business right now. |

| Thats pretty high fo sure. There are alot of good aftermarket stocks that you could get and have it glassbedded the whole works for that much. Mcmillin is on off the top of my head. There is ofcourse plenty of suppliers of actual brand name stocks. Google a few pages should give you all you need |

| make your own! Its not hard and you've got lots-o-time before hunting season. If you've got any tools at all its easy. I made one for my .22 and it worked out well. |

Try this guy, he might be able to repair your damaged stock. I've seen his work on a high grade walnut stock fitted to a K-80 and it was very good (crack in the wrist, repair was invisible).

Thanks for the referral, but...his prices start at $1900 for a bolt-action rifle, and that doesn't include the blank. That's way, way more than I'm going to put into this gun.
I still welcome any suggestions, though... |

Oh, of course. I'm sorry...I went to his price sheet and saw the new stock prices. I'll take a closer look at what he can do.
Thanks again... |
