| there is good elk hunting towards the coast, as well the eastside of the state. I would say its below average in the cascades |

Everything I hear, the coast is the place to go. Hunted deer with my son near Newport a few years ago and they were everywhere.

Welcome to BGH,
A few years ago I hunted in GODS VALLEY just north of tillamook, party of 5 pulled 3 bulls out of there.
They have been doing a lot of logging back in there the last couple of years, not sure if the herd has stayed around or not.
I have also heard the blue mountains in NE oregon had good elk hunting, but is a draw tag.
