| Went looking for Elk Hunting Paradise, and found it. Wanted to hunt wild elk, fair chase, in a pristine wild environment, be fed well , and have a warm, comfortable bed at night. All without spending my kids inheritance. Im dreaming right? WRONG! I found it! Its a place called High Plains Drift Inn in south central Colorado. They put you up in one of the nicest 1800s style ranches Ive ever seen, feed you like a king, TEACH you how to call and hunt the elk PROPERLY, and the best part is that you get to hunt the largest wild herd of elk in the world! How much did it cost??? $1000!!!! Thats it! . Additionally the mountain brook trout fishing was FANTASTIC. World class. I couldnt believe it. The owner has been outfitting for 44 years, and is renowned for his knowledge. As they do no internet advertising(never had to), and book their hunts through word of mouth, and return clients, I thought that it was the least I could do to get the word out. This place is a must! Check it out. Colorado elk hunt units 80/81. Over the counter permits for most seasons. You can call RV Robertson in Colorado @ 719-850-8931 to reserve a spot.
