Would anyone know how long it takes to receive a Quebec Hunting Certificate after completing the hunting course? I took the hunting class back on Feb. 3rd, almost 8 weeks ago and I have not received anything yet...is this normal or is it possible my file fell through the cracks? Thanks! ::unsure:

As far as I know, you're the first member from la belle province...I don't know for sure, but I hope it works out for you.

Well, thank you very much for welcoming me aboard! Since I'm new to the whole hunting thing, I have no doubt that this site will be very helpful.

As for the Hunting Certificate...I guess I'll just have to keep stalking the mailman until he delivers it!!

Oh yeah...the Certificate is going to be here soon, I have no doubt! (Although , I have been saying that every-single-day for 8 weeks) :](*,) One of these days I'm going to be proved right!

I shall keep you all posted and let you know the second it arrives, which will be soon, right? :thumbsup1:

I did some snooping around from some friends of mine in the Ottawa/Gatineau area and the general consensus was you should have it by now...so you might want to call and make sure it didn't fall through the cracks.

Hmmmm...Interesting. I appreciate that you snooped around, thank you!

I gotta tell you, I agree that I should have had it by now. I was sure it was supposed to take some 4 weeks. 8+ weeks seems quite long.

If I don't get it tomorrow, (Monday), I'll start making some calls and/or sending emails to every Quebec government agency linked to hunting and find out what the heck is going on.

The simplest this is becoming quite the adventure, I'll let you know what happens.....

Thanks, again!! :thumbsup1:

Hiya, everyone...

As promised, I made some calls today. It turns out I was, in fact, supposed to have my Hunting Certificate by now. The reason I have not received it? I took, and passed, my Canadian Firearm Safety Course in Ontario and Quebec did not know about it. Since the Safety Course is a prerequisit to the hunting certificate, they were hanging on to it until I could prove I successfully completed the Safety Course.

Today I faxed over the proof so once again, I'm going to assume that it will be arriving very soon! :](*,)

I wonder, however, how long were they going to keep me in the dark? ::-k I was never notified that they needed anything from me. If not for saskie, I wasn't even going to call. Thanks, saskie...your snooping around was not in vein!

Well, I shall let you know once I become an Official Hunter...until then, I'll just have to use my binoculars to track the mailman!
