|

| I was interested in doing some hunting in Michigan this year which actually got me off to looking at land for sale there. I'm not familiar with it when it gets down to specific counties or areas. What specific areas in Michigan are where the bigger bucks roam?? |

| If you're looking for big whitetails, the southern portion of the state is the best. Jackson County produces the highest quantity, but the surrounding counties are pretty good as well. As more people practice QDM, it's getting better everywhere, but try sticking to the south where it is limited to archery, shotguns and muzzle loaders (no rifles.) |

| Is it the plants in that county? I know here in South Texas it's the best hunting in the state and it's all because of the hi protein food that naturally grow there. is it the same in Michigan? I'm going to go search for some hunting packages in that county. |

| Yes, southern Michigan is heavily agricultural but I am sure good genetics also play a role. |

Keep in mind that the Southern area is shotgun, muzzle loaders and archery only. See the DNR website for areas. I would hate to see someone buy some property expecting to use rifles for deer and get busted in a shotgun only zone.
Whelland mentioned this also, just reaffirming |
