|
|
I am going to take a vacation to Hawaii this summer for about ten days and I was wondering if any of you think it would be feesible to plan a small hunt during that time. I figured I may not be able to make a trip to Hawaii again any time soon so I thought I would take advantage of the situation. Im open for any suggestions as to what I can do there and a rough estimate as to the cost.
Thanks in advance for any replys,

| if you`re going to the big island, look up Parkers Ranch(not too hard, covers most of the center of the island :) ). i got a goat on a 7 day vacation there in `03. unplanned hunt. called Thursday after finding a brochure while exploring island. hunted Saturday. my Spanish goat was nearly a trophy. another 1.5in. in spread and i would have had to pay another $300. my hunt was about $500, i`ve also heard there is some goat hunting on the Napali coast of Kauai. other than that, i don`t know |

| I live on Maui. I try to go hunting every Saturday. The area I hunt is open until June 30. If you wanted to fly over for the day, you could join us. No gaurantees, the area I hunt is fair chase - no dogs. So far we've picked up 1 goat and 1 boar each day. |

| Ey howsit braddahs. There are lots of hunting opps on the islands. If you do some research you will find get lots of species to hunt. Get Axis deer, blacktail deer, Goats, mouflon(sp) sheep, hogs, and even turkey. Different islands get different animals. Try look up the DLNR website and look for hunting they have a list of licensed guides. Or you do like braddah Haiku said and find a friendly local braddah to take you up the mountain and slip him a couple duckets. Im pretty sure you will need to apply for a letter of exemption for your hunter saftey. Hey braddah Haiku you guys get some big racks over there? I live Molokai and still lookin for dat monsta. |
