well my second try at turkey hunting was better . I got set up at about 5:30 and as soon
as I did I herd a goble off to my left . I had my hen dec set up about 20 yrds out and I felt preaty confident that if one came in it would distract him away from me.
Well I let out some cutts and he calls back then I got into the purring and clucks and he calls alot closer. so I let go with some good cuts and this drives him crazzy he tripple gobbles and quadruple gobbles , then nothing. At this time I let out somemore purrs andcluck and still nothing. than right to my left he gobbles again , he is not far away at all so I use my push button call a bit and then I see him about 15 yrds strutting towards my deak flarred out and preaty. I slowly pull up my shotgun and aim at a spot that he will walk through and when I see his head blam he is on the ground 10 yrds out . Man the deak worked.
He weighed out to 18lbs with a 9 3/4" beard and 3/4 inch spurs.
I tell ya that was preaty cool. :thumbsup1: :thumbsup1:
just thought I would share

Congrats Fisher :thumbsup1: The first bird is always special, he's the one that will keep that fire lit for years to come. I never get tired of chasing gobblers. I go every chance I get even after I fill my tags, to film them in action.
Ya' got a Pic? ::-k :D |
