| Anyone find any elk sheds yet? I know here in North Idaho that deer have dropped already , but not sure about elk and moose. We still have 2-3 feet of snowon the ground up here but I will trudge through anything if they are on the ground. |

moose have dropped. deer and elk have not dropped yet. I saw a 4x4 bull in a field the other night. Deer will start dropping now thru end of may.
This is in the Coeur dalene area.
if you know where the alder creek fields in the wolf lodge area are, you can see all kinds of elk at sunset.

thanks Tim. I am up in Careywood and the place that I hunted Elk last fall has not even 1 elk or deer track in it now. I looked low and even hiked up a good ways and nothing more than a nice set of bear tracks, some coyote and bobcat, but no elk or deer or moose for that matter. Not sure where they are, but I saw a guy walking through a field last weekend with a nice whitetail shed . So I wasnt sure what has started dropping yet. Thanks for the info. Getting ready for Turkey & Bear in a couple of weeks.

Saturday 29 Mar,On the way back from icefishing on Jackson lake I stopped and put the glasses and spotting scope on the herd on the feed ground and didn't see many one horn bulls at all, most everything I saw still had both sides.
On another note saw 5 wolves and 18 coyotes crusing around and the coyotes were keeping the elk between them and the wolves. |

I watched a herd of about 75 elk yesterday. The spikes and one 5 point still had their antlers.
Also had a young whitetail buck feeding next to my house yesterday that had two little bumps on the top of his head where his antlers are starting to grow. |

I am looking at 2 bulls right now. one has stubs 1-2 inches long the other, you can just see 2 red marks on top of his head. God, i love living out side of town.
