I have enough points to draw unit 21 this year. Does anyone have any current information on this unit?? Any help would be appreciated....

2ND SEASON "OVERATED"

There are good mulies all over the western slope but unless your hunting later seasons or on Private land I would pass.

My personal experience in this unit is lots of deer but small and tall they do not seem to get very wide in this area probally due to genetics.

Not saying that if you hunted hard got away from other hunters and had time you would not kill a great buck very possible but in general this is not unit 10
even though it borders 1o

if you read in in the huntin fool that this unit is so great then draw the tag and see for self.

By the way have you ever noticed the same info is printed year after year in the huntin fool

21 is a migration unit. The more snow the better and the later the season the better. We could be have a major winter kill this year, so before you burn a lot of points I'd check with the game wardens for the area you want to hunt before you apply. If there's no snow unit 21 could be very poor hunting.

Any sugestions where you guys would look with 7 points this year?? Thanks.

If I were you I wait a month or so and see how the deer did through winter. You might want to call CDOW @ 303-297-1192 and ask someone in the know, what areas were hit the hardest with winterkill. For now I know the Gunnison looks to be in bad shape, hopefully they'll make it through. With 7 points you should be able to draw a really good tag. Draw deadline is 4/1/08.
