I just got a Mathews Switchback LD. It has a 9" brace and is not as fast as some other bows, but is very accurate and forgiving.
I have just shot it today, but really like it already.
I have it set at 65lb and using the Mathews convertable drop away rest, Black Gold 4 pin sight and a peep.
It is fast enough for me.
I shot the new Drenalin and DXT and they are really nice bows, but I settled on this one.
Why did I buy a Mathews - really just one reason - Tiffany shoots a Mathews :laugh: No, that's not the reason, but truthfully marketing did play a part in me trying the Mathews. I wouldn't have bought one if I didn't like it, but all the ads and the fact they have a great reputation did get me to try one. |

| Hey, I'd buy anything that Tiffany endorsed :D Sounds like a good setup. Speed isn't everything, I actually put it closer to the bottom of the list. Speed doesn't matter much if you can't get the arrow to hit the boiler room! |

I know a couple of guys that have switchbacks and they really like them. I am sure you will not regret your decision.
I am from the same school of thought on speed as red. Seems in the bow world there are the speed freaks and the retained energy freaks. The speed freaks tend to outnumber the retained energy freaks. Personaly I am a retained energy guy still shooting the heaviest AL arrows I can. |

You can split the difference by shooting an arrow around 8.5 to 9 gpi and still get good speed out of the older compounds.
