I have put in for the top Unit in New Mexico (unit 2)for Deer for 10 years and have not drawn. I am looking for a new unit anywhere
Anyone have any ideas, I hunt with a bow in Jan.
I would appreciate anybody's input

Unit 34 in the sacramento mtns is a good unit you put in for the sept and jan.
if unsuccesful in sept you can go back in Jan. |

| I have hunted 34 all my life and the last 20 years on a private ranch. The deer heard is in real bad shape in that area. It may be true for most of the state. The big deer are still in the sand hills in south east lea, eddy couty some to the north around clovis but the closer you get to the state line the better. It is a tough archery hunt becasue of the terrain and they are mule deer. Good luck. |
