| I'm not sure if its legal in my state but has anyone ever hunted geese with a bow? If so how'd it go? any tips tricks? if I go it will be at a golf course were they are a huge problem. just trying to spice things up a bit |

| I have been trying to get the F & G (here in Idaho) to buy into the archery idea to help with some of their geese problems. So far with no success (no success getting them to accept the idea). If it works where you're at - I'd be interested to know. Sure makes sense to me - especially in urban areas or perimeters to urban areas. |

I have killed several geese in Missouri with a bow and arrow. We checked with game wardens first to make sure it was legal. We used them in town where there were huge numbers of banded geese. We used broadheads and not any fancy bird points. Best shot is a side shot threw the wings...which is a deadly shot. Walking away and hitting the spine area is deadly as well.
Great way to sharpen bow skills shooting at a small target at 30 yards. The birds get weary fast so you will have to figure out ways to hide from them in areas they frequent. Hope this comes in handy for next fall. |
