There use to be a good active hunting forum for the state of Virginia but I can find it anymore.
Anyone know of any other Virginia hunting forums? |

How is your season going? I have only been able to get out three times, but I have had an unbelievable amount of action. Last night I had three young bucks fighting directly below my stand. It was really something. The woods are starting to get crazy. I am not familiar with any Virginia forums, but would be interested if you find any.
Good Luck! |

Welcome to BGH trx680 and virginiabowhunter.
There are several members here that are from Virginia. You guys get together on here and kick it around. Tell all of your buddies to come on over and create your own right here in the Southern US Section of BGH, we'd love to have them on over. |

I have seen more deer in the past two weeks than I saw all last season.
On saturday i saw two bucks and a doe. the doe and the first buck were both too far away for me. The second buck was huge and I refused to let it go. I took a shot for it and missed, I guess it was too far away. Today was very windy where I live.. In the spotsylvania/fredericksburg area a small buck came right under my stand after I put up a dripper a few yards away.
I couldn't hear it and I saw it running away after I did an estrous bleat.
A friend of mine killed a 15 pointer last week.
So far this season is a good one in Virginia. |

| Hello, from Southern Va. :thumbsup1: I was sick the entire 2 weeks of blackpowder season(my favorite), and this rheumatoid arthritis has kept me inside by the wood heater and the bourbon  Just now starting to feel like getting up a tree. Lord, it's hell getting old and decrepid..... |

Whats the best time to hit the woods??? I prefer late evening hunting over morning, but that's due to my inability to withstand the cold. I like to get up my stand by 3:30 or so, and sit until dark. With the big mast crop that we've had this year, hardwoods are a best bet. I've also noticed that deer will start cleaning up acorns as far away from human activity and houses as possible, and then later on, they will get braver and move closer to houses and such(where there are more acorns). Good Luck! |
