The internet & I have heard others say that gray foxes can actually climb trees--well, they straddle it anyway...
I have been told that reds do to--the internet says only the gray fox can climb trees---
Has anyone actually seen a fox in a tree? Or climb one?
What do ya think? ::-k |

I haven't seen it, but I've heard that only grey foxes can climb trees.
That's why men hunting on horseback with hounds preferred to hunt red fox. The greys would just get treed. |

| That makes sense....There are places around here that actually still hunt foxes on horseback, I need to find out more info on that & see if that is the only color (RED) that they chase. :thumbsup1: |

| I run alot of hounds that will go after fox, cats, and hogs. Most all foxes are treed by the dogs. We kill both reds and greys and both will be found in trees. Most of the time, it is small trees....... but they are trees....... |
