I'm new to the forum and I thought I may as well dip into the well of knowledge right off the bat. I just bought a Win M70 in 375 H&H and would like to work up some loads for it. I will be shooting 270 gr Speer BTSP and will be pushing it with RL 15. It seems like all the literature shows it at 2700 +/- which is right where I want it. What kind of info have you got?

Welcome to the site. Let me be the first to impart knowledge on you. That's gonna hurt like hell to shoot! :D

Allright, I've never shot one. Maybe one of our Africa guy's will be around.

It's a good idea to buy a reloading manual for anything you plan to reload. The load data is published by many powder, bullet, and ammo maker companies. Speer, Hornady, IMR, Hodgdon, etc.

Nope they are a kitten, fun to shoot and always a great conversation piece at any campfire. You will enjoy the rifle. I don't have one, but my hunting partner does and I bum it all the time to shoot.

I have and shoot a .375 H&H and I have to say is pretty easy to shoot. I have an Encore rifle with heavy barrel and muzzle tamer. It weighs about 9 lbs and shoots like a 30-06. The best thing you can do is add a Simms Limbsaver recoil pad. It's unbelievable how effective it is.

I use the same bullet loaded over 70 gr of IMR 4064 and the recoil isn't bad.

I find a good source of reloading data can be had at the "AmmoGuide Interactive' website. You must be a member (Less than $20) to get the deails of reloading data.
I just looked at the data listed for the .375 H&H,it showed data from 200 gr. to 350 gr. bullets. For 270 gr. it showed loads from 2300 fps. to almost 2800 fps@ 4692 ft.lbs. of energy.
I read an article years ago on how to build a ".375 improved",the ballistic data was very impressive! :thumbsup1:
If you are interested in some very hot loads for a given calibre, this is a good place to look.
Obviously hot loads are for experienced reloaders and should be carefully "worked up to."
