Good post, Frontier! An understanding wife makes all the difference in the world. Welcome to the forum! Which island are you on? Y'all have some great hog hunting out there!

Thanks for the welcome Whitworth! I live on the island of Maui and like you said there are lots of Feral pigs here. I primarily hunt for Axis Deer or Feral Goats but if a large boar crosses my path, I will naturally seize the opportunity. I have Gout so I give all of the pork I get away to family or friends, I will NEVER waste the meat from any animal unless I find it was sick after I recover it. I also enjoy going to the island of Lanai once a year to hunt Mouflon sheep. This year our group got drawn for the last weekend of hunting which is October 18th. I am going with my Father, Brother and two of my cousins. I will let you know how we did.

Aloha Frontier -- I can think of few things better to do with family than hunting! Good luck on your hunt, looking forward to hearing about it!

If hunting is that easy for you to give up you must not be as" hooked" as the rest of us . Change partners ,a change of scenery may be all you need. Find a buddy's child who needs a hunting mentor ,you'll be surprised how fun and relaxing it could be.

this all prolly depends on what you are fighting about.

example.

if you come from from hunting and you get into a fight because you missed some event that she told you 15 times about.......thats not her fault....shes allowed to be mad.

if you come home and she starts fighting about how unreliable you are because you said you'd be home around 7pm and its now clearly 7:30 and you still didnt fix the gutter she asked you once to fix....and how her father was sooo right about you.... then you might consider that the source of the arguement may not be you :)

good luck!
