| Went out this afternoon after family get together to check one of my trail cams. Saw deer everywhere! One of my spots had 15 deer under one of my stands. Several decent bucks, 8 does, and 1 very large buck. Think I will be heading out after Christmas to see if I can fill that bow tag  Getting to be crunch time, need to get the meat in the freezer! |

Red,
Good luck, I am heading out this afternoon too. Have that one any deer tag to fill still. Then on the 1st will jump state lines and try to fill those tags from Missouri. |

| How has it been going for you both? I saw about 20 deer with one buck amongst them in the bean field. The only problem is they were about 200 yards away from me. Guess I am going to move my stand down to the area they came out of the woods at this Saturday and hope I can close the deal by the 31st. |

Red,
Did you get out at all this weekend? If so, how did your hunt go? I hunted down in Miami County Saturday and saw a few does but that was all. Made a ground blind within a evergreen (cedar?) tree but cutting a hole into it. Then hung up a camo burlap canvas in front of me. Was really neat and had some does with 5 yards of me and never spooked or saw me.
Then today a buddy and I went to the Atchison property for an evening hunt after moving his ladderstand in Miami County. But since we got up there so late, I did not have time to move that stand down to the spot I wanted to. So I went to another part of the property where I shot the doe and saw two small bucks, one a six point and the other a two point but only had one antler. Saw 3 does too.
However my buddy saw over 30 deer (need some doe management in this area) in the southern bean field tearing it up and all going into the woods where I wanted to move my stand. Plus he saw the below buck in the field and go into the woods aroung the same place. Guess where I will be tomorrow evening with my stand moved in plenty of time for the final night of buck hunting? |

Nice looking buck  Hope it turns out for you!
I was able to go out last night and was able to take a 9pt. :D I went up to cut wood and at the last minute decided I better try and fill that tag. Lots of deer were coming out, but he was the only one that came out close enough for a shot. I actually passed on him 2 other times, but time was getting short. It was such a last minute hunt I didn't take my camera, but I do have a pic of him from my trail cam. I'm going to do a european mount with him so I'll post pics when I'm done and I'll try to find that trail pic. I've never hunted much late season, but I'm convinced this is a very good time to get out  |

Congrats on filling the tag.
I went out tonight and didn't see the wide 10 pt but saw a very nice 8 pt with 10+ inches G2's and 7+ inches G3's. Never seen this buck before but hope to see him next year. He would come any closer than 80 yards.
Off to Missouri to try to fill those tags now. |

| Went out Sat. for the antlerless tag and saw close to 40 deer. They were everywhere :D It seemed a little easy but I filled the tag and the freezer is getting full. I still have one more tag for Unit 19. |
