Those are some of the best phone camera photo's I've seen. Usually they just aren't very clear. That snow up behind Sweet Home? Nice lookin' places! Fishing any good in the resivour this time of year? Maybe closed. I fished it just a couple times and never caught a thing. When I was a kid we'd fish the river where the res is now and did really well, and, it was a beautiful river. Still is if you go up toward Mountain House.
Speaking of Mountain House, is it still open?

Moutain house has been sold 3x's in last 5 years, currently it seems a family living in there now. Have a ten foot, yes ten foot, chain link fence around entire poperty, even on the hill side...(shrugs) When I have been in area have waved to folks on the porch, no response. As far as fishing, been on foster twice, caught 3 rainbows. Been up to Greenpeter once, only had one on line, went under canoe and broke line :( No other nibbles. I need more time off :P
The John Day near Clarno, is that canoeable? I know folks run dirft boats on there all time, was curious how a canoe would do?
Cameria phone is just a Samsung phone from Verizon. Nothing to fancy, fancy things confuse my simple mind...lol |

Hey just me!
Yea you can canoe the John Day, I've seen a numer of people go down. Also saw one broke canoe that came out of Clarno Rapids. I was thinking the place to put in might be Burnt Ranch, above cherry Creek and canoe to Clarno. Probably do it in two or three days easy, probably two. |

Burnt Ranch....how close to Spray/Spring Valley is that? That could be an interesting trip. Never been on the John Day, 'cept about a mile or two up from the mouth, and that was years back.
N.M....found Burnt Ranch on map, man was I way off  |
