Good to see that the lynx are starting to reproduce. Although I wonder if 4 kittens per year would be enough to sustain a growing population considering the overall mortality rate...

think twice about this.......did you know that a lynx den, if found in Colorado, is subject to no human encrochment for two miles surounding the den, including hunters, snowmobilers, hikers and outfitters by the US fish & wildlife agency????

| Swollen tongue if I'm understanding your post, if they find a lynx den then no human is allowed at that point to go within 2 miles of it? I'm all for restoring these species but thats a bit overboard if thats true. |

| I didn't know that ST, but as a practical matter is it really an issue? The article says this particular den was found in the san juans at 11,200 feet. The chance of running into people is slim. The DOW probably only tracked them down because of the GPS collars.... |

Thats the word that I have heard in this part of the country about a lynx den. They have released some this spring just 10 miles from where I live. There has been some native lynx existing here already along with wolverine but the DOW denies their existance here in the northern san juan mountains. |
