I was just wondering if there were laws every where in rifle season if you had to wear hunters oorange, in manitoba we must wear 40 square cm and orange on our heads. I was just wondering because last season my friend and I were going to retrieve a deer and a american hunter walked out of the bush and almost got shot, wasnt wearing any orange just all camo. Was also on private land without permission.

I don't think Alberta, BC or Yukon have such rules - but don't quote me on that. Most places (NS, NB, QC, ON) have the 40" rule. Other provinces relax the requirement for muzzleloader hunters.

Then there's SK where during the rifle season it's head to toe in red, yellow, white or orange or a combination of those colours (cap can't be white).

In the Regina/Moose Jaw WMZ where I hunt they haven't required colours for about 10 years I think. Saskatoon WMZ may have the same regs . Those are bow, muzzleloader or shotgun only zones.

I guess he was trying not to be seen.
Seems that most times when a hunting accident happens....someones breaking a law or two or three.
NJ you need an orange cap or 200 square inches. In Pa it 250 sq inches on head, chest and back combined. Bow hunters, waterfowl and furbearer hunters are not required to wear orange.

As far as I know you can't even buy the orange stuff in the state of Alaska.
There was a special youth hunt for moose established in 2002 that was in a small area of heavy moose concentration and they passed a law where the people getting a permit for this hunt would have to wear orange. I believe it was the first and only time the state ever required it.

In michigan you do during firearm deer season and for small game hunting. Not sure on the square inches but a hat or even a pair of blaze orange gloves satisfies the requirement.

I believe Utah has the 400 sq inch above the waist rule, and I just asked a Cal. warden this question last week. "In Ca. hunter orange is not required, but highly recommended. On miltary installations during their hunts, it is required." That was his reply.

Nova Scotia regulation:

13 (1) Subject to subsection (3), no person shall take, hunt or kill wildlife or attempt to take, hunt or kill wildlife or accompany any person who is hunting unless that person wears a cap or hat and a shirt, vest or coat which shall be exposed to view in such a manner as to be plainly visible from all directions and the colour of which is solid hunter orange.

"hunter orange" means a daylight fluorescent orange color with a dominant wave length between 595 and 605 nanometers and excitation purity of not less than 85 percent and illuminous factor of not less than 40 per cent;

In Ilinois, you must have 400" solid blaze orange including cap/hat. Camo orange doesn't count.

Kansas is a yes. I don't believe I would want to hunt rifle season without it. Deer won't see you regardless and I sure as heck want the other guy to see me If there's a deer between him and I.

It's not required to wear orange in Arizona. We do have a very good hunter education program however, with incentives to participate. You receive a permanent bonus point for big game draws if you take the class. It's offered for both rifle and archery safety. Everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY, I know that hunts has taken the class! Anything that will help you get a tag out here is worth it, so the courses are wanted. The results have been very few hunter accidents.
I don't wear any orange myself, but my son likes to wear an orange hat. I feel well educated hunters are far better than a band-aid law forced down your throat. I'm not saying that it is dumb to wear orange, especially in some situations, I just say let the hunter decide.
I guess you guys can tell I don't like "big brother" telling me what to do........... 8-)
